The 'Callaway' Golf Club: An Overview

The 'Callaway' golf club is one of the most popular and also reliable type of golf club on the market today. There are so many people (particularly retired men) that are fascinated with golf today that it is no wonder the 'Callaway' golf club is now at it's peak and holding it's own in the world of golf clubs.

The company, Callaway Golf is headed by Ely Callaway who bought half of Hickory Stick USA and renamed it Callaway Hickory Stick USA. Soon after, he decided to hire the best people that would be instrumental in achieving the dream he had for a golf club. He hired Richard C. Helmstetter to be the chief club designer and this as others would say was the point of no return. The designs are truly revolutionary and innovative which is why the Callaway golf club is known as a unique and high-performance item of golf equipment. Thereafter, Ely Callaway renamed his company, Callaway Golf and relocated from Cathedral City, California to a sleepy seaside town called Carlsbad, just north of San Diego.

Innovation:

One of the most innovative designs that the firm came up with was to create a stainless steel driver that had a larger and more forgiving head than any previous design. The CEO of Callaway called it “Big Bertha” after the German cannon back in WWI, famous for its long range. This design was the one that made the Callaway golf club a household name in the States and sold in millions. The 'Big Bertha' club was responsible for Callaway becoming the top manufacturer of golf clubs, not only in the US, but worldwide.

Callaway Golf manufactures the following clubs in the various categories. The drivers comprise two models; 'Big Bertha Fusion FT4' and 'Big BerthaTitanium 454'. The next category, the 'Fairway Woods' comprise three designs; 'Big Bertha Fusion Fairway Woods', 'Big Bertha Titanium Fairway Woods' and 'Big Bertha Fairway Woods'. The next, a hybrid designed for longer range and distance is 'Big Bertha Heavenwood Hybrids'. The irons category boasts five designs; 'Big Bertha', 'Big Bertha Fusion', 'X-Tour', 'X-18', and 'X-18 Pro'. In the wedges category the model is 'Forged+ Wedges'. The last is the putters and the two designs are ' Callaway golf I-Trax Putter' and 'Tour Blue'.

All the designs mentioned above are scientifically manufactured by Callaway Golf after due research and trial runs.
